Newburgh Priory
Originally an Augustinian priory, Newburgh Priory was founded in 1145 and became a family home following the dissolution in 1538. It is now a wonderful stately home, open to the public on a seasonal basis and is an exclusive wedding venue.
It is reputedly haunted by a White Lady who signifies death (although Brooks does not state whether it is to the witness or if it is connected with someone connected to the Priory), and a man dressed in 18th century garb. It is believed by some that both are connected with a duel supposedly fought there.
